Bryceson meets the Marine Commandant

On August 23,2009 the Marine Corps Commandant made a visit to the 2nd Bat 3rd Marines on deployment in Southern Afghanistan. Here's a photo of Capt. Bryceson Tenold and others from his group meeting the General. It's always a big morale booster to have the highest ranking member of the Corps visit the men in the field. On a side note, General Conway was a classmate of Dick Kurth, a ritired Marine Colonel and husband of Tyrus' cousin Jane. They came up from their home in California to attend Bryceson and Jenna's wedding last summer.

Ryan heads out for 2nd year of Med School

He's on his way! Over to Montana on I90, then south on I15 through Salt Lake on his way to Phoenix (Glendale). He should be there Sunday evening with classes starting on Monday.

We have had a fabulous time together this summer and feel so blessed that Ryan was able to be home for so many weeks.

Early One Morning...

Bright and early this morning, Kennedy and Jenna (who had nine hours of sleep) woke Ryan (who'd had five hours of sleep) for an early morning waterski. Ryan's first words of the morning were, "You mean you girls were serious?" but he very obligingly crawled out of bed to drive the boat at 7:30am. The water was smooth and pristine (Bryceson, are you reading this? We expect you to be practicing in Afghanistan for next summer!). Despite having forgotten gloves and the fact that Ryan got to ski over some pretty intense weeds for a minute or two, the venture was successful, leaving everyone to wonder why on earth we don't do this more often.

Good Morning from the White House

Luke and Ryan just returned from their run while Kennedy continues to dominate as the world champion backgammon player(Aunt Donnie claims it is Kennedy's new spiritual gift). In the meantime Aunt Donnie is whipping up another amazing breakfast and Doc is catching up on some reading out on the deck.  Rumors of a water polo game are circulating for the afternoon.....
